Here is a guide to the pharaonic monuments in and around Luxor. Since I took so many pictures I decided to categorize them. I have also added interesting links that describe in-depth the various treasures and locations. Introduction: Since there is no way in hell that I get up at 03.00h a.m. to catch a plane that leaves at 06.20h from Zurich, I decided to spend the night at the Mövenpick Hotel by the airport and have dinner with my Sis. I still had to get up at 4.30h a.m. Coffee was called for, so I prepared some Nescafé. I took the mug down to the reception to wait for the bus. When the (male) receptionist saw me with my mug, he asked: "wat you do wid coffee?" I replied: "I drink it, isn't that obvious?" He answered: "And wat you do wid empty cup?" I smiled sweetly: "I'll put it on your desk for you to clear away." And wid dis I swept out of the hotel, extremely pleased wid myself... My cousin Mark van Thiel found out what happened to my offensive mug: the (male) receptionist followed me to Luxor and tried to get rid of it. He put mugg on..., but see for yourselves: a mug oddysey, so to speak... Below are the links to the various pages and pictures. They're dumbnails (thumbnails), so click on the picture to enlarge. Then hit return. Enjoy! |
